Khanh T. Tran

Mr. Tran became chief executive officer of Aviation Capital Group (ACG), Pacific Life’s global commercial jet aircraft leasing subsidiary, on January 1, 2016. Prior to assuming leadership of ACG, he was president of Pacific Life with responsibility for its asset management, corporate development, corporate financial, and investment management groups.

Mr. Tran joined Pacific Life in 1990 as treasurer and was promoted to vice president and treasurer in 1991. In 1995, Mr. Tran was named vice president of Corporate Development and treasurer. He was promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer in June 1996 and elected to the board of directors of Pacific Life Insurance Company in August 1997. Mr. Tran was appointed executive vice president and chief financial officer in April 2001, and also became the chief investment officer for Pacific Life in January 2011. He was named president of Pacific Life in 2012.

Mr. Tran began his career with United California Bank, followed by Flying Tiger Line, Inc., then the world’s largest global air freight company and was with The Vons Companies, Inc., a supermarket chain in Southern California that was a KKR leverage buyout portfolio company, prior to joining Pacific Life.

Thomas G. Baker

Mr. Baker serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Revenue Officer. In this capacity, Mr. Baker is responsible for ACG’s Sales/Marketing, Trading and Technical teams. His primary focus is on serving ACG’s customers and developing new growth initiatives for the business

Prior to this position, Mr. Baker was responsible for ACG’s corporate strategy; financial planning & analysis; and investor relations functions

Mr. Baker joined ACG in 2016 from Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Division, where he covered clients in the Aviation & Transportation Sectors since 2006. In this role, he advised clients on strategic priorities, capital structure optimization, equity and debt issuance, mergers and acquisitions, as well as managed relationships with key sector investors. From 2012 - 2014, he was head of the Asia (ex-Japan) Transportation coverage group for Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong, where he worked on debt and equity financings in the aviation and transportation sectors. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Mr. Baker spent a number of years at Citigroup in investment banking and Morgan Stanley in equity research. Mr. Baker holds an MBA from MIT and a BA from Brown University.

Patrick J. Ryan

Mr. Ryan is Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer. In that capacity, he is responsible for ACG’s Technical Department, and in so doing represents a vital component of our business worldwide. His responsibilities include fleet asset management, aircraft transitions, while also providing technical expertise to both our external clients and internal customers.

Prior to joining ACG in 2001, Mr. Ryan worked for United Airlines from 1989-2001 in various positions including Quality Assurance, Line Maintenance, and Base Maintenance.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Arts from San Francisco State University, an Associate in Science in Aircraft Maintenance from City College of San Francisco, and an FAA Airframe and Power Plant License.

Steven Udvar-Hazy

Mr. Udvar-Hazy is Senior Vice President, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) Relations and Market Development. In this capacity, he is responsible for the evaluation, selection and purchasing of modern aircraft for ACG’s growing portfolio. Mr. Udvar-Hazy also oversees ACG’s Engineering and New Aircraft Management Departments in addition to leading the company’s market development initiatives.

Prior to this position, Mr. Udvar-Hazy served as Vice President, Market Development at ACG. In 2016, 2017 and 2018, Mr. Udvar-Hazy was recognized as one of the top 40 executives under 40 years of age in the commercial aviation industry by Airline Economics, the only individual to be named to this list three years in a row.

Mr. Udvar-Hazy is a licensed pilot by the United States Federal Aviation Administration and is type-rated on the Boeing 737. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Madhu Vijay

Mr. Vijay is an Executive Vice President and the company’s Chief Financial Officer. He oversees all finance and accounting functions as well as information technology and office services. He is also instrumental in cultivating relationships with financial institutions worldwide.

Prior to joining ACG in 2001, he was the Director of Corporate Finance for Pacific Life, where he was responsible for assessing corporate investments in subsidiaries, as well as in managing the borrowing and the financing facilities. Mr. Vijay began his career at the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac) in 1994.

Mr. Vijay received his Bachelor of Arts (Economics) degree in Economics and History from the University of Rochester, New York. He earned his MBA in International Business from the American University, Washington DC, in 1994, and was awarded his CFA charter in 2000.

James A. Zembrzuski

Mr. Zembrzuski serves as Senior Vice President and General Counsel. In this role, he manages ACG’s legal team, oversees all legal affairs of the company and acts as chief compliance officer.

Prior to joining ACG, Mr. Zembrzuski worked as in-house counsel at International Lease Finance Corporation in its Los Angeles and Amsterdam offices. In that role, he advised the company in connection with a wide variety of aircraft finance and leasing matters, including operating lease transactions, secured debt financings and asset-backed securitizations. Previously, he was a Senior Associate in the Aircraft Finance practice at the law firm of Fulbright & Jaworski in New York. Mr. Zembrzuski began his career as a revenue management analyst at US Airways in Arlington, Virginia.

Mr. Zembrzuski earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce (Finance) from the University of Virginia and a Juris Doctor from George Washington University Law School.
